About Dibs

Updated October 18, 2026

Dibs is a small, independent product for one job: sign-up sheets. Who's bringing what to the potluck, who has snacks this week, who's on the gate from 9 to 11.

Why it exists

Most people meet a sign-up sheet as the person signing up, usually on a phone, usually from a link in a group chat. Too often that page is crowded with ads, asks for an account, or takes a long time to load on a weak signal. Organizers then spend the week chasing people and untangling who said they'd bring the plates.

We think a sign-up sheet should be as quick as writing a list on paper, and as easy to sign as writing your name on one.

What we promise

  • No ads, ever. Not on sheets, not in emails, not on any plan.
  • No accounts for people signing up. A name and an email is enough.
  • We don't sell data. The names and emails on your sheet are there for your sheet. We use them to send confirmations, reminders and the messages you send.
  • Sheets stay out of search engines by default.
  • The basics stay free. Confirmations, reminders and waitlists will stay free. If we add a paid plan, it will be for extras.

How it's paid for

Right now, it isn't. Dibs is free while we build it. Later we may offer a paid plan for things like removing the "Made with Dibs" note or managing sheets for a whole school or club. We will say so plainly when it happens, and nothing that is free today will start showing ads.
