Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and Steamata LLC ("we"), which runs Dibs. By making a sheet, signing up to one or buying Plus, you agree to them. We've kept them short.
What Dibs is
Dibs lets organizers make sign-up sheets and lets people claim spots on them. Making sheets and signing up is free, with no ads on any plan. Dibs Plus is a paid plan for organizers with bigger groups; pricing lists what each plan includes. We may add, change or remove features. When a change takes away something you rely on, we tell you ahead of time where we can.
Your part
If you make a sheet, you're responsible for what's on it and for how you use the names, emails and answers people give you. Use them only for the thing they signed up for. You must be at least 16 to make a sheet or buy Plus. If you make one for an organization, you confirm you may.
If you sign up, give a name and email you're happy for the organizer to see. A parent or carer should sign up for a child under 13.
Email to other people (messages, nudges and invites) is only for the people on your sheet or your group's list, about that sheet. No marketing, and no lists you bought or scraped. We limit how much of it each plan can send, and we pause it when people report it as spam or too much of it bounces.
Acceptable use
Don't use Dibs to:
- trick people into giving passwords, payment details or other personal information;
- pretend to be a person, school, church, company or other organization you're not;
- send spam, or collect emails for anything but the sheet;
- share anything illegal, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit;
- collect sensitive information Dibs isn't built for, such as health records, government ID numbers or card numbers;
- break, overload or get around the limits and protections on the service, including automated sign-ups without an API key.
Sheets we may remove
We may hide or delete a sheet, block sign-ups, pause email or close an account that breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or is the subject of a valid legal complaint. Where it's safe to, we tell the organizer why first. When it can't wait (phishing, spam, an attack), we act first and tell you straight after. Anyone can report a sheet with the link at the bottom of every sheet.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you put on Dibs. You let us store it, show it to the people you share the link with, and send the emails the sheet needs. That ends when you delete the sheet. Our privacy page explains what we keep and for how long; it is part of these terms.
The API and assistants
If you use the API or connect an AI assistant with an API key, you're responsible for what's done with your key. Sign-ups made that way are labelled as coming from an agent. We may limit or revoke keys that are misused. The API docs list the limits.
Dibs Plus
- Price. Plus is billed in US dollars, monthly or yearly, at the price shown on pricing when you subscribe. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. If the price changes, we email you before it applies to your next renewal.
- Payment. Stripe takes the payment and sends your receipts. Stripe's terms apply to the payment as well as these. The charge shows on your statement as DIBS PLUS.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Manage billing, in your settings. Plus stays on until the end of the month or year you paid for, and you aren't charged again. Then your account moves to the free plan: your sheets and everyone on them stay, the free plan's limits apply, and the "Made with Dibs" badge comes back.
- Refunds. If Plus isn't what you hoped, reply to the Stripe receipt, or write to hello@dibs.page, within 14 days of a charge, and we refund that charge in full. Apart from that, we don't refund part of a month or year.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails, Plus stays on while Stripe retries. If it still fails, your account moves to the free plan.
Ending
You can stop using Dibs at any time. Export your sign-ups first if you want them (each sheet has a CSV export and a print view), then delete your sheets, or ask us to delete your account. We may end these terms for you with 30 days' notice, or straight away for a serious breach. If we ever shut Dibs down, we'll give organizers at least 30 days' notice.
What we promise, and what we don't
We work hard to keep Dibs running and your sheets right, including making sure a slot can't be taken by more people than its limit. But Dibs is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it will always be available, error-free, or that every email will arrive. Keep your own copy of anything important.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Steamata LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, or for how organizers or participants use the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that can't be given up by contract.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and for changes that matter we email organizers at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Dibs after that, the new terms apply.
The legal bit
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If a part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions, notices and reports go to hello@dibs.page.
